"Bombi back to Africa" 24 March 2004
14:58:17 PM
This little guy is living in the Budapest zoo. Mom
unfortunately could not support her offspring and his little brother and sister
died within hours after birth, but someone fortunately cared! |
Little Bombi's name is derived from the Hungarian
word "Bombol" which I understood is uttered when you suddenly came across a HUGE
LION. Well, this huge little lion can walk free in Africa if we can rally enough
help and support. We were first informed about Bombi's need for a home when we
received an email from Liesl Mortimer of the Wildlife Action Group who in return
received a moving email from the Budapest zoo who enquired about the possibility
to find a home for the young cub. Bombi's brother and sister died soon after
birth and since then he has had a foster mother in the form of a most adorable
shaggy dog, however a final destination had to be found for him and the Zoo
director decided to support this move and not to ship him off to a second rate
zoo or the circus. We have already put things into motion for Bombi to return to
Africa and grow up with Matsumi - both cubs are about the same age - only three
weeks difference between the two. You can help us to bring Bombi back to Africa
and give an unique little zoo creature the opportunity to live his life as a
wild lion - This will be one of this years highlights for me - what do you say?
Please help us with our next project that will be a great Christmas gift to
yourself. Ten hip-hip hoorays for "BOMBI BACK TO
AFRICA".
